Getting to Orvieto
Orvieto is about 60 miles north of Rome. A direct-route train departs Rome Termini. The best way to get to Orvieto is to fly to Rome, the Fiumicino Airport.
From Rome, take the train from the Termini Station to “Orvieto Scalo” in Orvieto. The train will be headed toward Florence/Milan. The travel time is approximately 75 minutes. Trains run frequently. At the Orvieto station, there is a funicular (cable car) that will bring you up to the Historic Center. There is also a Taxi stand to travel to the city center by car. Please note that the funicular and bus run on a limted schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you are traveling by car, the best way to get to Orvieto is to take the autostrada del Sole A1 in the direction "to Florence". You will arrive in 90 minutes.
Classes begin Monday morning, please arrive in Orvieto the Sunday before at the latest.
